Something you should know before getting a wax

What is the difference between hard and soft wax?
There are two types of wax, hard and soft. Soft wax is what you would traditionally think of regards of body waxing. It’s best suited for waxing larger areas. It is applied warm, and removed using a strip.
Hard wax is thicker and applied warm with a waxing spatula. The wax hardens and is removed without a strip. Depending on the body part being waxed, traditional soft wax is generally used. However, it is my personal and professional opinion that any time you are working in an extra sensitive area, (such as pubic area, underarms, etc) that hard wax is usually the better choice. Hard wax attaches itself only to the hair, not the skin, minimizing discomfort and reducing the possibility of skin irritation and lifting.

How long does my hair need to be to get waxed?
Hair should be at least 3 quarters inches (6mm) long and not any longer than 1 inch.

How often should I get waxed?
Every 3-6 weeks, depending on their personal preference and hair growth.

Will waxing really make my hair grow back less?
Yes! Clients who wax on a regular basis notice a significant decrease in their hair growth and thickness. Waxing damages the hair’s follicle, causing the new hair growth to be much finer and far less. After long term waxing, it’s possible for some hair to never grow back however these results are not for everyone.

What is the difference between a Bikini Wax and a Brazilian Wax?
A traditional Bikini Wax removes hair along the top and sides of the bikini line. It removes all hair which would be exposed when wearing a bathing suit. You may have as much taken off the top and upper portion as you like. With a Brazilian Wax, everything taken off, however some women prefer to leave a small “strip” of hair on top.

What is the perfect “post waxing” care?
– No sun exposure to waxed skin for 12 hours following a waxing treatment.
– No hot baths for 24 hours following anybody waxing treatment.
– No abrasive scrubs to waxed skin for 24 hours following a waxing treatment.
– If irritation should occur, it is recommended you use an antibiotic ointment such as Neosporin or MuPirocin ointment to help keep the area continually moist to avoid infection and scabbing.
Although I have to say there is no perfect way to prepare for your wax. The perfect way should be the way that suits you the most!

Boyzilian – how to prepare?

The male brazilian wax? Yes, it’s no longer gender-specific! Now men can reap the benefits of longer-lasting hair removal even in their most intimate region. So if you’re a man new this world, and don’t know what to expect, here is a step-by-step briefing for waxing beneath the boxers.

How Should I Prepare?

1. Be clean. Come freshly showered.

2. Be dry. Cleanliness is appreciated, but please skip on the lotion, you’ll get better results if your skin is less oily.

3. Be hairy. Your hair should be at least 0.25 inches in length (which makes it long enough to lay flat on your skin). Please don’t shave for at least two weeks prior to your appointment to ensure that your hair is long enough! Also, if you’ve ‘let it go’ down there and it seems out of control, don’t worry! Our specialists will trim any longer hairs to the proper length prior to the removal process.

4. Be comfortable. If possible, wear loose clothing that day to prevent irritation in the post-wax phase.

5. Be relaxed. Reportedly the more relaxed your muscles are, the better your hair removal results will be!
